Illahee Middle School Beam Signing

On March 21, 2024, we held the Illahee Middle School beam signing. Dr. Pfeiffer, board members Luckisha Phillips and Joan Marie Murphy, Learning Improvement Officer David Herrera, Illahee principal Brianna Ward and staff, and construction teams gathered to celebrate this commemorating event.

The afternoon started with those in attendance adding their signature and positive messages on the glulam beam, a key structural element composed of engineered wood laminations weighing 1493 pounds and 32.5 feet long. The beam will be placed at the apex of the front entrance leading to the classroom wings. A construction tour followed, allowing everyone to see the huge progress made. Currently, wood framing on floor 1 is complete with a good start on floor 2, and roof trusses are installed over the common areas, among other things.

The event concluded with photos to memorialize the day. Thanks to FORMA Construction and Bassetti Architects for your work on this building. Thank you, voters, for making this project possible! We know this school will bring tremendous pride to the Illahee scholars, staff, and community.
