We are proud to celebrate a historic double-victory for our Career and Technical Education programs!

This spring, Decatur High School senior, Omar Serna, demonstrated elite technical skill across two major competitions. Facing the top aerospace students in Washington, he secured first place at the Boeing Manufacturing Assembler State Competition in Everett.

Omar followed this success with a record-breaking performance in SkillsUSA Diesel Technology. After winning at the regional level, he competed against every regional champion in Washington to take first place in the state!

This marks the first time our program has won a state title in Diesel Technology and the first time a Decatur scholar has advanced to the national stage. Omar will now represent Federal Way at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference.

Congratulations, Omar, on these phenomenal, history-making achievements! We are FWPS Proud!
