We are excited to share that 5th grade scholar Travis Garcia of Valhalla Elementary School has been selected as the overall top reader in the Seahawks Summer Reading Program!

Travis read over 23,000 minutes this past summer and won the grand prize of a surprise visit from Seattle Seahawks’ mascot Blitz!

Congratulations Decatur High School Jazztet team for being invited to the KNKX studios to perform for the School of Jazz session.

KNKX studio was truly impressed with their musical arrangements and two songs in their set list were composed by DHS’ very own, Kysen Ellis. Their recorded performance has been shared on KNKX and live on their website.

Congratulations to Decatur High School sophomore, Katie Estrada Alvarez, for advancing to the WIAA Cross Country State Championships, and to senior, Jalen Black, for advancing to the WIAA Cross Country State Championship Ambulatory Race!

Congratulations to the Federal Way High School boys football team for advancing to the WIAA State Football Tournament!

This is the Eagles’ first time returning to the state tournament since 2014 and it has been a remarkable 2022-23 season. Everyone fought valiantly in the state tournament.

Congratulations scholars on an amazing season! Qualifying for state is a huge accomplishment. You are among the best of the best. We are #FWPSProud of you!

Congratulations to the following scholars on the Thomas Jefferson High School girls swim team for individually qualifying and advancing to the WIAA State Championships for swimming:

  • Angela Ng
  • Erin Bae
  • Emma Calin
  • Samantha Kahn

These Raiders have been together since Sacajawea Middle School and swam magnificently as a team. TJHS put up their first ever points at the state tournament since 2012.
