District CTE Options

CTE Month is coming up in February! We remain committed to helping our scholars explore future career and educational paths and continue to develop our programs to provide transferrable experiences and skills that scholars can apply to college and careers.

Project Lead The Way

Through Project Lead The Way, scholars are able to explore STEM pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. We recently added and expanded our course offerings to include:

  • Principles of Biomedical Science: Expanded to TAF@Saghalie
  • Biomedical Innovation: NEW at Decatur High School and Todd Beamer High School
  • Aerospace Engineering: NEW at Decatur High School, Federal Way High School, Thomas Jefferson High School and Todd Beamer High School
  • Flight and Space: NEW at Evergreen Middle School

Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Twenty-five diverse students are now enrolled in our Pre-Apprenticeship Program at Federal Way High School, created to help 11–12th grade scholars explore careers in trades. Through the program, students can graduate high school with free college credits, industry certifications, credentials, and or/preferred placement into an apprenticeship program. Units of study include welding, masonry, and other trade skills.

Launched during the pandemic, students at the following schools can take a full-year entrepreneurship course in which they build and present a business:

  • Decatur High School
  • Federal Way High School
  • Todd Beamer High School
  • Thomas Jefferson High School
  • TAF@Saghalie
