The expansion of Star Lake Elementary School will provide capacity for additional preschool and elementary scholars in support of Goal 1 of the Strategic Plan and the guiding principles of the district facilities planning. Ranked in the top 10 by the Facilities Planning Committee.

Star Lake Elementary School received a Building Condition Score of 63.11% and a Learning Environment Score of 32. For more information about these scores: https://www.fwps.org/Page/5031 

Project Overview

Star Lake Elementary School serves PreK through fifth grade students in a 61-year old building. The current building was constructed in 1958 and was ranked in the top 10 schools needing to be rebuilt by the Facilities Planning Committee.

Star Lake Elementary is being rebuilt alongside Totem Middle School, and the design includes some shared spaces, allowing for more opportunities for deliberate collaboration between these two schools.

We’ve held nine community meetings about this project since May 2018, and we’ve heard from over 200 neighbors, staff, students and families about Totem Middle School and Star Lake Elementary.
