Federal Way Public Schools invited FWPS families, staff, and community members to an open house to get updates and share feedback related to the Memorial Field construction project. At the event, guests were able to review current plans and renderings, which included a 3D fly through video.

Project Overview

Memorial Stadium and its related facilities are original structures close to 50 years old. As a facility that supports all of our high schools and is used extensively by our community, a major renovation or rebuild is long overdue. In addition, the visitor locker rooms exist at the bottom of the old Central Kitchen building — a space currently being used to warehouse furniture.

Memorial Field Project Schedule

  • Projected capacity: 4,000 spectators in Grandstand
  • Design-Build Team: BNBuilders, Inc. and McGranahan Architects
  • Design: Spring 2022–Winter 2022
  • Construction: Winter 2022–Fall 2023
  • Expected opening: Fall 2023
