We would like to recognize Dreya Bundesen, teacher at Mirror Lake Elementary.

She was nominated by a scholar who shares Ms. Bundesen had a positive impact on her. The scholar also says Ms. Bundesen made her feel comfortable, encouraged her to smile, and helped make many good memories. Because of you, this scholar says she feels inspired to become a teacher one day!

We would like to recognize Jonathan Scott, teacher at Lakota Middle School.

Jonathan was nominated by a scholar who says he made class fun and exciting. The scholar says Mr. Scott always said, “good morning” and asked how his day was going, and he says this built respect for Mr. Scott. Because of you, this scholar says he learned to appreciate each day and enjoys going to class!

We would like to recognize Phil Natsiopoulos, teacher at Sacajawea Middle School.

The scholar who nominated him says Mr. Natsiopoulos helped him feel more confident and allowed him to help with class projects and more. He shares Mr. Natsiopoulos is funny and makes class a fun place to be. Because of you, this scholar says he is a better person!

We would like to recognize Matt Vaeena, teacher at Decatur High School.

Matt was nominated by a scholar who says Mr. Vaeena taught him a number of life skills that helped get him through life. The scholar shares the best thing he learned from Mr. Vaeena is that you can lose, or you can learn. Now this scholar says he no longer loses, but only learns. Because of you, this scholar says he has the confidence to tackle whatever comes his way in life!

We would like to recognize Kurt Lauer, principal at Federal Way Public Academy.  

He was nominated by a few scholars. One shares Mr. Lauer helped him have a unique and positive experience at school. Another scholar says Mr. Lauer always treats him with kindness and offers support. A third says Mr. Lauer created an amazing school environment and helped him strive to be a better person. Another scholar states Mr. Lauer helped him out when he needed instruction and helped figure out his next steps in education. Another says Mr. Lauer makes school feel like family, and he helped guide her on the best path. Because of you, these scholars say they enjoy school, learned a lot, and have grown through their experiences at Federal Way Public Academy!

We would like to recognize Elizabeth Copeland, teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School.

Elizabeth was nominated by a scholar who shares Ms. Copeland helped support him through the challenges of online biology class during this difficult year. He also states Ms. Copeland helped him overcome barriers that stood in the way of his success.  Because of you, this scholar says he enjoys online learning, feels confident in sharing his ideas aloud, and earned an A in biology!
