Fall Re-Opening: Using guidance from OSPI and the Department of Health, we are planning for a safe return that prioritizes learning. In accordance with Gov. Inslee and OSPI direction, we will be opening the year with full face to face instruction. Please stay tuned for more information to come in the coming weeks.
Health and Safety and Re-Opening: Our scholars’ health and safety are priority. As we prepare for our face to face fall re-opening, our district is hard at work developing health and safety protocols which include social distancing guidelines, arranging schedules that minimize high traffic contact, considering bus transportation and engaging in deep cleaning protocols to minimize the spread of germs. As part of ensuring a safe learning environment, all scholars and staff will be required to wear face masks. Please take the time this summer to both reinforce and practice the wearing of face masks. FWPS will continue to place health and safety as a priority as we look forward to welcoming our scholars back on September 1st. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Hello Rainier View Families,
I am excited to be returning to Rainier View as Principal! I am a proud graduate of Federal Way Public schools.
This will be my 20th year serving FWPS. I have worked as a teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal and interim principal. My core values directly align to the mission and vision of Federal Way Public Schools.
I am honored to continue the work at Rainier View with Shannon Henry our Assistant Principal and our dedicated staff of teachers, paraeducators, custodians, nurse, counselor, psychologist, speech and language pathologist, office staff, and nutrition services staff. My goals for the 2022-2023 school year are to ensure all staff, scholars and families feel seen, valued, heard, and have a strong sense of belonging. This begins with building relationships and trust among staff, scholars and families. I will focus on partnering with families to ensure we are providing rich opportunities for family engagement. We will start the year off with a back to school bash on August 27th from 2:00-4:00.
I look forward to partnering with our school community to provide all scholars with culturally responsive instruction, targeted academic and social emotional supports, and opportunities for enrichment activities. Student learning is at the center of all we do at Rainier View. Our scholars will leave Rainier View ready for middle school and beyond! I would appreciate the opportunity to connect with you over the summer!
