Hello Rainier View Families,
I am to serve as principal of a school with such history, pride, and tradition. I look forward to partnering with our staff, families, and school community for a wonderful 2019-2020 school Year! I am excited to begin my second year of service as principal of Rainier View, and to continue the amazing work underway in the Federal Way Public Schools. I believe that Federal Way Public School's Strategic Plan provides a solid foundation upon which our staff will build equity, high academic and social emotional success for all scholars. This year our team at RVW will strive to ensure that each of our scholars has a vice, a dream, and a bright future!
I am looking forward to another stimulating year of learning and growing with our scholars and working with our staff and you, our parents, families and community members. I come to RVW with a variety of educational experiences. Throughout my many years of education, I have worked at many different grade levels. Preschool - 5th Grade offer me excitement, enthusiasm, energy, and enlightenment.
My passion is to ensure that every scholar is provided the highest quality education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment. I understand the commitment that it takes for all scholars to achieve their very best. I believe that every scholar can and will succeed if provided the right supports and opportunities. Working together as a team with our staff and families is essential to achieving that goal. I see it as my responsibility as the principal to oversee this process, guiding the staff and allocating the resources and supports to make that happen. My new assistant principal, Carla Carrizosa and I are dedicated to further developing and leading our learning community in support of the goal outlined the FWPS Strategic Plan. AT RVW our priorities are Goal 2, Whole Child and Goal 4, Mastery of All Subjects. Our focus will be Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS) to foster a kind, responsive, and learning-focused school climate. Goal 4 we will be building on the progress we have made toward supporting each scholar in meeting or exceeding grade level standard. We are energized to strengthen our PBIS. This will include school-wide expectations and procedures for all staff, scholars, and families to share, which ensures a safe, kind, and productive learning environment for everyone. In closing thank you for entrusting the RVW staff with your most precious treasure, your child. THank you for your partnership. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to stop by and chat. We at RVW are looking forward to another amazing and inspiring year.
