Hello Rainier View Families,
I am excited to be returning to Rainier View as Principal! I am a proud graduate of Federal Way Public schools.
This will be my 20th year serving FWPS. I have worked as a teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal and interim principal. My core values directly align to the mission and vision of Federal Way Public Schools.
I am honored to continue the work at Rainier View with Shannon Henry our Assistant Principal and our dedicated staff of teachers, paraeducators, custodians, nurse, counselor, psychologist, speech and language pathologist, office staff, and nutrition services staff. My goals for the 2022-2023 school year are to ensure all staff, scholars and families feel seen, valued, heard, and have a strong sense of belonging. This begins with building relationships and trust among staff, scholars and families. I will focus on partnering with families to ensure we are providing rich opportunities for family engagement.
I look forward to partnering with our school community to provide all scholars with culturally responsive instruction, targeted academic and social emotional supports, and opportunities for enrichment activities. Student learning is at the center of all we do at Rainier View. Our scholars will leave Rainier View ready for middle school and beyond!
In partnership,
Principal Kara Maphosa
