Driver’s Ed Class Information

The FWPS Traffic Safety Program will continue through January 2021. Due to declining enrollment, FWPS Driver’s Ed classes will no longer be offered after this date.

Instruction permits extended due to the DOL Closure - click link below for information from the Department of Licensing.

Governor Inslee announced that school buildings are closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 virus.  Due to this, the Traffic Safety Department will be closed as well and will tentatively plan to re-open in the Fall.  As of right now this is how classes will move forward:

Spring 2020 classes will resume in the Fall and the class dates will be posted on the Traffic Safety web page when determined.

    • Pertaining to the classroom: All classes will resume from where they left off.  This would be an excellent time to review your textbook and your assignment calendar.
    • Pertaining to On-Street drives: Drives will resume when the classroom starts up again. See the Traffic Safety web page (below) to review driving recommendations for those of you who would like to practice during this break.

For those of you who are unable to attend classes in the Fall, you can request a refund by emailing Kelly at The refund would entail registration fees MINUS drives that were performed, which are $25.00 a drive. When submitting a refund request, please include your students name, ID number, and what High School they attend their class at. Refund checks will be mailed to the address that was provided on your students registration form and payable to the parent/guardian listed on the form.  All refunds will be processed at the beginning of September due to the updated information from the school district regarding the 2020/2021 school year.   Students who request a refund will no longer be enrolled in a Traffic Safety class.  Please be patient with the refund process as it could take some.

We are hoping to see you in the Fall when we can start up again!  Stay safe and healthy!

    Thank you!
