Library Mission

  • The mission of Green Gables library media programs is to ensure that students and staff are lifelong users of ideas and information. The library staff assists students in discovering the joys of recreational reading and the satisfaction of researching their questions via books and computers to gain lifetime skills needed for twenty-first century sources.

About Our Library

  • The library at Green Gables is for book lovers of all ages.  The library is accessible to all students, staff, and parents.  In a community that values reading, the library should be the center of the universe.  The library is a place where all are warmly welcomed: a place to read, explore and share new interests.

Checkouts to students are as follows:

    • Kindergarten students get 1 book for two weeks.
    • 1st and 2nd graders get 2 books for two weeks.
    • 3rd through 5th graders get 3 books for two weeks.

Books can be returned earlier than the two week limit.  All materials can be renewed with the exception of the Battle of the Books books.  These can only be checked out for two weeks at a time due to the high demand.
