    Dive in to the new school year! We’re excited to offer expanded summer learning opportunities for FWPS scholars! These summer programs offer students an opportunity to continue learning during the summer in a fun way. There are limited spaces available, and students are registered on a first-come first-serve basis.

    Please note that registration for Summer Learning 2023: Academic Language Academy, Camp Invention, Camp Exploration, Camp Acceleration, and After-School All-Stars is now closed. See below for additional summer learning opportunities.

    June 26 - August 25 
    FWPS can participate in week-long summer camps by age, including elementary, Teen Center, and Sports camps.

    Summer Day Camps K-5th Grade | 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    In this action-packed summer camp, kids will have the time of their lives. The summer camps are safe, inclusive, engaging, and fun. Each week has a different theme, where kids will get to participate in a variety of activities, field trips (if safe), and make lasting friendships!

    Summer Sports Camps K-12th Grade | Full Day 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., AM 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., PM 1 - 4 p.m.
    Join us this summer for our fun, skill-building programs that are designed for beginner to intermediate athletes. We have a variety of sports camps and clinics offered all summer long.

    Teen Summer Day Camps - Ages 13-17 | 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    The summer camps are safe, inclusive, engaging, and fun. Teens will get to participate in a varitety of activies, field trips (if safe), and make lasting friendships!

Summer Learning Packets by Grade Level


  • Fun. Read. Eat. Dream.

    FRED – it’s a big, green bus with a whole lot of fun! This year, FRED activities will include grab-and-go meals and take-home activity kits for scholars. All kids, birth to 18, are welcome!

    The FRED Bus will be available Monday - Thursday from June 27 - July 27, 2023 (except July 3-4) at the times and locations listed below.

In-Person Summer Programs

  • Offered Summer Programs


    • Federal Way Boys & Girls Club
      Grades K-12
      FWPS can participate in week-long summer camps by age, including elementary, Teen Center, and Sports camps.


    • Camp Invention
      Grades K-4
      At Camp Invention, scholars will participate in activities like STEM, gardening, robotics, integrated math and ELA. 
    • Academic Language Academy
      Grades K-4
      At Academic Language Academy, scholars who receive multilingual services will participate in STEM activities and language acquisition. 

    Middle School

    • Camp Exploration
      Grades 5-7
      Camp Exploration will consist of a 3-period day, with ELA, Math, and one elective. Language acquisition classes are available for students receiving multilingual services. 
    • After-School All-Stars Program
      Grades 5-7
      Scholars can participate in fun activities that may include coding, digital music, production, sports, photography, and more!

    High School

    • Camp Acceleration
      Grades 8-12
      Camp Acceleration will consist of a 3-period day with 1-2 transition boot camps for ELA and/or math, and 1-2 elective opportunities. Language acquisition classes are available for students receiving multilingual services.
