Bridging the Gap
Get empowered with resources to support your child through various milestone school transitions.
Join us at Bridging the Gap: Supporting Students Through Change, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6-7:30 p.m., at Lake Grove Elementary or via Zoom.
Transitioning to a new grade level can be a big deal for students and families alike. Sometimes, transitions can bring about mixed feelings of both excitement and anxiety about what comes next. In the final Family Academy event of the year, families will learn how to confidently support smooth school year transitions.
At the event:
- 📚 Participate in workshops to learn how to support your child's academic progress during the summer.
- 🎓 Access special support for your college-bound student to navigate the journey to post-secondary education.
- 🤝 Connect with other FWPS families to share experiences and learnings.
- 🥡 Enjoy a free dinner for your family for a stress-free evening.
- 🧮 Activities for children while you learn:
- Childcare for elementary children, age 5 and older
- Learning Lab for older children to explore STEAM concepts
Plus, families who pre-register to attend in person can register for specific workshops and will be entered into a drawing to ⭐ win one free week of childcare ⭐ for one elementary-aged child. Families must be present to win.
Interpreters available at the in-person event only.
This event will benefit families with children in any grade. Through essential conversations and authentic partnership, we can increase scholar success.
