Free Take-Home Meals for Students Who Observe Ramadan
Ramadan is observed from February 17 to March 19, 2026, and we recognize this is an important month for many in our community. To ensure students who are not eating during the school day have access to nutritious meals at home, Federal Way Public Schools is offering take-home breakfast and lunch options in alignment with OSPI guidance.
Program Details:
- What’s available: Pre-packaged breakfast and/or lunch. All take-home meals provided are Halal*.
- Cost: Free for all FWPS students.
- Pick-up:
- Secondary Students: Meals can be picked up in the cafeteria after school.
- Elementary Students: Family Liaisons will coordinate the distribution of meals to students.
- Guidelines: If a student decides to eat breakfast or lunch at school during the day, they will not receive a take-home version of that same meal.
*All Halal meals are free from haram meat and animal-sourced: cholesterol, diglycerides, gelatin, glycerol, hormones, lard, magnesium stearate, monoglycerides, pepsin, rennin, and shortening.
