Safe Arrival Attendance Notifications
Because safety is of utmost importance, the district uses automated messaging to alert parents and guardians if their child has an unexcused absence. If parents have notified their child’s school of the absence, the automated system will not contact them.
Safe Arrival Morning Attendance Notifications
Approximately 1.5 hours after the school start time, a morning attendance notification will be placed to the primary phone number/email for the parent/guardian based on what's listed in the student information system (ParentVUE).
Families of students will receive a morning attendance notification via email, text, call and or the mobile app if their child has an unexcused absence.
Safe Arrival Evening Attendance Notifications
In the evening, all parents and guardians of students in secondary schools who have an unexcused absence will receive a notification informing them of their child’s absence by period. These notifications are scheduled for 5:20 p.m.
Important Attendance Information
All parents and/or guardians are automatically registered to receive notifications through Parent Square when they enroll their student. If you have multiple emails or phone numbers listed on your account, you may set the order of your preferred contacts to receive notifications. Notifications will only be sent to one email and one phone on your account. Please review and edit your contact preferences in Parent Square at www.parentsquare.com or in the Parent Square app.
Individuals who do not activate their account in Parent Square will still receive email and text/call notifications. To activate your account, register online at Parent Square with the email address or phone number that you provided during enrollment and verification.

To opt back in reply, "START" to any text message you have received from Parent Square or send "START" to 66458.
Reporting Student Absences
If your child is absent from school due to illness, medical appointment, technology issues or other reasons, you can enter this in ParentVUE. Log in to ParentVUE at grades.fwps.org, select “Attendance” in the left column, then select “Report Absence”. If absences can’t be reported online, you can still contact your child’s school.
