How do I access additional support and training for ParentSquare?
How do I log in to ParentSquare
Click the icon in Launchpad to Learning or log in at www.parentsquare.com using your FWPS email and password. If it’s your first time logging in, ParentSquare will prompt you to confirm your contact information is accurate. This will be your FWPS email, and your primary phone number listed in Employee Online.
How do I update my contact information?
There are two options for changing the phone number associated with your account:
- Update your primary phone number in Employee Online. The only reason personal numbers are attached to accounts is so FWPS can reach staff regarding urgent communications outside of work hours. This is also how staff are notified of inclement weather closures or delays. If you change the number in Employee Online, it will update in ParentSquare.
- Add an additional phone number to your account to have a second number associated. You should have the option to “skip verification for now” if you want to add a landline.
Regardless of the phone number associated with your account, it is private and only visible to you.
How can I customize notifications in ParentSquare?
By default, ParentSquare will send an email and a text message for general messages. You may also choose to download the app and receive app notifications.
You can customize your notification preferences for all general messages (posts, direct messages, auto notices), add additional contact information to your account, prioritize which number is used by default, and set office hours indicating when you’re available for direct messaging. The system will override this for any messages we mark as urgent, so you will still get school closure notifications, etc.
Instructions are available at the links below (if prompted to sign in, please select “sign in with Microsoft” and use your FWPS email and password):
What happens if I update my contact information or opt out of text messages? Will I still receive notifications about school closure or delay?
Yes, you can opt out of general notifications or add an additional number to receive general notifications and still receive urgent communications. Urgent Alerts (school closure/delay, emergency notifications) will override your individual preferences and ParentSquare will push a notification via every method available in the system – phone call, text message, email, and app notification.
Can parents and families see my personal contact information?
How Do I Opt Out of Text Messages?
Please note that message & data rates may apply. To opt out of text messages, reply "STOP" to any subsequent text you receive or turn off texting in your notification preferences in your ParentSquare account.
To opt back in reply, "START" to any text message you have received from Parent Square or send "START" to 66458.

How do I use ParentSquare/StudentSquare to translate messages and post to families?
What is the difference between Private Message and Group Message in Direct Messages?
If you select two or more people, choose Private Message or Group Message. Private message creates a separate conversation for each participant and they will only see messages from sender. Group message creates one conversation for all participants and each person will see messages from everybody else.
For more information head to: https://parentsquare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204215089-How-to-Send-a-Direct-Message
Is it possible to add users to a group message that has already been initiated?
You cannot add a new user to the thread. To see a list of recipients in a group message, click the "i" icon at the top right of the conversation. For more information, see the article Name a Group Thread and Direct Message Info.
Is it possible to schedule messages to send at a later time?
You can schedule a post to be sent later, but direct messages are sent immediately. Fore more information on how to schedule a post go to https://parentsquare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204108995-Schedule-a-Post-for-Later-Delivery
I am in charge of a club or sport, can I communicate with just those parents even if their children are not in my class?
Teachers have the ability to create groups with students who are not in their class. Please visit Groups > New Group > New Static Group or New Auto-Update Group. From here you can create the group and choose a name and description for your group, as well as whether or not you want the group to be public or private. At the bottom, you can add your members by searching for them and checking the box next to the name of the individuals you would like to add.
When you are finished click Save at the bottom. Here is a help article on creating a group.
I am a teacher and a parent in the district. Can I use the same ParentSquare account for both roles?
Staff who are also parents in the district or another district that uses ParentSquare will have the ability to merge their account and act as both roles in the same account. More information on how to merge your account can be found at: https://parentsquare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057380571-How-to-Combine-Merge-Accounts
If the staff and parent accounts are merged, then you will only be able to log in via your work email address. By default, your work email address will also be used for both staff and parent notifications.
FWPS recommends NOT merging your accounts to prevent confusion especially if you are a parent in another school district that uses ParentSquare. To unlink your merged account, please contact ParentSquare support or call 888-496-3168.
Please note that ParentSquare uses your telephone number and work email address as an identifier. If you and another member of your household share a phone number (listed in ParentVUE) ParentSquare will also prompt you to merge your accounts. Please DO NOT merge your accounts if you plan on using them separately.
Who do I contact for technical support?
Please contact the ITS Helpdesk for technical support at 253-945-2111 or HelpDesk@fwps.org.
