Preschool at a glance

Federal Way Public Schools offers high-quality preschool programs for children who are three or four years old on or before August 31 of the current school year and live within the Federal Way School District Boundaries. Preschool is either tuition-based or free, depending on family income, through the state-funded ECEAP program. 

Beyond academics, preschool scholars enjoy participating in a wide range of district-wide activities and opportunities, including:

• College and Career Discovery Week
• Computer Science Week and Hour of Code
• Social-Emotional Learning with Second-Step Curriculum
• Reading Marathon Challenge
• School-Sponsored Events (ie: multicultural nights, PTA events, etc.)
• STEAM Exploration Night

Elementary school at a glance

Elementary scholars in Federal Way Public Schools are building academic perseverance, cultural competency, agency, and social-emotional skills that will propel them to succeed in middle school, high school, and into college and careers. Beyond academics, scholars enjoy participating in a wide range of district-wide activities and opportunities, including:

Middle school at a glance

Middle school students enjoy expanded opportunities during and after the school day. With a consistent schedule across all FWPS middle schools, scholars receive equitable course opportunities coupled with dedicated academic support and enrichment time — all within an inclusive and welcoming environment. As scholars begin expressing more individuality, we help them find their voice, interests, and passions. Scholars develop cultural confidence, practice organizational skills, actively engage in critical thinking and goal setting, and begin to take ownership of their learning and progress — foundational elements to success in high school.
