Bright Futures Kindergarten
What is Bright Futures Kindergarten (BFK)?
Bright Futures Kindergarten is a full-day transitional kindergarten program for children that turn 4-years-old on or before August 31 of the current school year and live within the school boundaries of Mark Twain, Olympic View, Rainier View, Silver Lake or Valhalla. Research shows students who are proficient in reading by the end of third grade are more likely to graduate from high school. BFK focuses on essential academic and social-emotional skills to ensure our scholars are at grade level as readers by the end of the third grade.
BFK is a full-day program that runs Monday-Friday and follows the FWPS school calendar.
The first day of BFK starts Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
