Nearly 1,600 student-scholars received diplomas during graduation ceremonies held June 12 and June 14. FWPS also celebrated 15 exiting transition scholars in the Employment and Transition Program (ETP).

Graduates represented the following schools:

• Decatur High School

• Federal Way High School

• TAF@Saghalie

• Thomas Jefferson High School

• Todd Beamer High School

• Truman Campus – Career Academy at Truman, Federal Way Open Doors, and Internet Academy

In total, the Class of 2026 earned an incredible $12.5+ million in scholarships. Our graduates are pursuing diverse pathways toward their bright futures, including 652 scholars heading to 4-year degree programs, 399 attending 2-year colleges, 120 entering trade or technical schools, and 96 starting apprenticeships. Additionally, 55 scholars have committed to serving in the military, 26 are starting internships, and 151 are entering the workforce.

Among this year's graduating class, 247 scholars are the first in their families to graduate from high school, and 435 are the first in their families to attend college. Proving their academic excellence and workforce readiness, 237 scholars earned the Seal of Biliteracy and 396 earned Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs).

Graduates were celebrated by principals, board members, staff, and student speakers who shared words of encouragement, pride, and community.

Superintendent Dr. Dani Pfeiffer delivered an inspiring and relatable message to the graduates, acknowledging the mix of excitement and uncertainty that comes with answering the question, "What comes next?" Reflecting on how the world has evolved since her own graduation in the "1900s," she shared five essential tips for navigating the future: embracing life's unpredictable path, truly investing in the right people, persisting through quiet or difficult times, learning from failure, and remembering to stay present in the moment.

“Take the leap. Accept the challenge. Say yes to the opportunity that pushes you beyond your comfort zone—because that is where growth begins,” Dr. Pfeiffer said. “You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. You just need the courage to take your next step. Because the question isn’t whether you’re ready—it's simply this: What comes next? And, Graduating Class of 2026, we can’t wait to see how you answer that question.”
