🌱 Horticulture

HORTICULTURE

This course provides scholars with skills in the history of Horticulture, career exploration, plant anatomy, plant and pest identification, plants’ environmental requirements, care, different methods of propagation, pruning techniques, and pest control. Scholars will read and interpret written material on plants. Scholars will have a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE, FFA) as required by Washington State curriculum guidelines. Scholars will exit the program with skills to meet Horticulture Industry Standards.

🧬 Animal Science

ANIMAL SCIENCE

A general course that focuses on the scientific principles that underlie the breeding and husbandry of agricultural animals. Scholars will study all aspects of agricultural animals such as classification, domestication, anatomy, physiology, genetics, products, and nutrition.

🐐 Urban Agriculture

URBAN AGRICULTURE

This is a capstone class for the Agricultural Education pathway. This course focuses on plant and animal production in urban and limited-space environments. It also covers the analysis of resource allocation, productivity, investment, and trends in the agricultural sector.

🪴 Agricultural Leadership

AGRICULTURAL LEADERSHIP

Scholars enrolled in Agricultural Leadership will develop skills that will enable them to succeed in the real world. Scholars will develop individualized projects that enable them to explore topics of interest within the Agricultural Industry, as well as plan FFA events and compete in FFA Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events.
