CTE General and Program Advisory Committees

Advisory committees provide guidance, support, and assistance to CTE programs in a variety of ways. The primary purpose of advisory committees is to provide ongoing evaluation and consultation about the curriculum to keep it current with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values identified as necessary for students to work effectively in their chosen occupations.

FWPS CTE Programs benefit from the contribution of two types of advisory committees:

  • General Advisory Committee - Provides direction, guidance, and assistance to administrators and staff for the school district overall. The goal is to have at least one member from each program area represented on the general advisory committee
  • Program Advisory Committee - Focus on providing direction and assistance for specific occupational/technical programs within the specific CTE programs
