Superintendent's Message

Back-to-School Message from the Superintendent

Hello Staff, Families, and Community,

Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2023-24 school year!  I am truly excited about all that this year has to offer, and I am looking forward to every opportunity we have coming our way.  As I’ve been out in schools this week, it’s been a joy to connect with families, our staff, and welcome new students to their first days of school. The positive and hope-filled energy has been contagious!

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and the start of the new school year is a good time to set attendance goals and habits – we want to see your child at school as much as possible!

When your child isn’t in school, they are missing out on important learning and times of connection.  It’s critical they attend school consistently. Each and every day matters and contributes to your child’s academic growth. Check out our e-newsletter below for attendance tips.

If you’re new to Federal Way Public Schools and have not yet completed enrollment, or are returning but have not completed verification, there is still time! Several of you have come into our offices this week with questions, and I want you to know we’re still here to support. You can visit www.fwps.org/enrollment to learn more about enrolling for the first time or verifying your child’s information. If you have any questions or need in-person support, please reach out to your child’s school directly. You can also contact us at 253-945-2100 for technical support with ParentVUE.

Thank you again for a wonderful first three days of school. As a reminder, there is no school and offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of Labor Day.

I’m excited to see how we learn and grow together this school year.

In Partnership,

Dr. Dani Pfeiffer
