Our elementary scholars have been working hard over the past two months—running, jumping, cheering each other on, and building some serious track and field skills! Now it’s time to celebrate all that hard work.

Please join us for the district FWPS Elementary Track Celebration on May 2nd!

📅 Saturday, May 2, 2026
🕗 8:25 am – 3:00 pm (see detailed schedule below)
📍 Federal Way Memorial Field (1300 S 308th St, Federal Way, WA 98003)

This is the final district-wide event of the season, and we’d love for you to come cheer on our scholars as they showcase their speed, teamwork, and determination on a professional track.
 

What Families Should Know

🏅 Event Schedule & Sessions

The event is divided into two separate sessions to help keep things organized and age‑appropriate:

  • Morning Session:
    → Grades K–3 will compete during the morning hours, from 8:25-10 AM
  • Afternoon Session:
    → Grades 4–5 will compete later in the day, from 11 AM-3 PM

Families are welcome to attend only their scholar’s session or stay for the entire day to support all participants—it’s completely up to you.

🚸 Safety & Supervision

For the safety of all scholars:

  • Only coaches and authorized staff are allowed on the field at any time.
  • Coaches will be responsible for escorting scholars to and from the field and supporting them during events.
  • Families and spectators may cheer from designated viewing areas.

🌭 Food & Refreshments

  • You’re welcome to bring your own lunch and snacks for the day.
  • Concessions will be available on site if you’d prefer to purchase food and drinks.

🚗 Parking Information

  • Free parking is available at:
    • Federal Way High School
    • Memorial Field
    • On nearby side streets
  • Please allow extra time for parking and walking to the entrance, especially during peak arrival times.

🎒 Clear Bag Policy (Important!)

Memorial Field follows a Clear Bag Policy to help ensure a safe environment.

Approved bags include:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
  • One‑gallon clear, resealable plastic bags (such as Ziplock bags)

Exceptions:

  • Medical items
  • Diaper bags (child must be present)
    These bags may be subject to inspection.

Families are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid delays at entry. You can review full details by reading the Clear Bag Policy.

🤝 Sportsmanship Expectations

We want this to be a positive experience for everyone!

  • All participants and spectators are expected to show respect, encouragement, and positive behavior throughout the event.
  • Cheer loudly, support all scholars, and model great sportsmanship.
  • More information is available in the FWPS Sportsmanship Expectations guidelines.

Our goal is to create a fun, safe, and memorable day for every scholar. Thank you for supporting our students and helping make the event a success—we can’t wait to see you there!
