Elementary scholars compete for Battle of the Books Championship
Each elementary scholar who participated in this year’s Battle of the Books read 16 books together to answer 25 questions and compete for the district championship.

Federal Way High School DECA scholar places first in competition
DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) is the Career and Technical Education student organization for the marketing program in a high school. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools around the globe.
Jordan Terzakos from Federal Way High School placed first in principals of marketing, and will go on to compete at nationals.
This effort is in direct support of the district’s Strategic Plan Goal 4, Content Area Competence: Mastery of All Subjects.
Woodmont K-8 scholar wins quiz state championship
Congratulations to Woodmont K-8 student Rita (Manuela) Alimas who won the Washington State Championship at the "Let's Explore Africa Quiz" competition where players answer multiple choice questions at various difficulty levels. Questions highlight geography, entertainment, people, literature, symbols and resources.
This effort is in direct support of Goal 4, content area competence: mastery of all subjects.
Thomas Jefferson High School math team takes first in competition
Twenty of the top high school math teams from Washington state competed in the 25th annual Mu Alpha Theta Washington State Math Competition.
Thomas Jefferson High School placed first overall in state as a team, winning the overall sweepstakes.

Thomas Jefferson High School First Responders wins their ninth consecutive gold medal
Congratulations to Thomas Jefferson High School First Responders for winning the eighth Skills USA State Championship in Emergency Response skill. They also won their ninth consecutive gold medal for the largest Puget Sound Chapter.

Federal Way High School scholar-athlete named to All-USA Boys Basketball Team
Congratulations to Federal Way High School’s Jaden McDaniels who was named to All-USA Washington Boys Basketball Team. During his junior season, McDaniels helped the Federal Way Eagles reach the Class 4A state finals with an average of 21.3 points per game.
Participation in extracurricular activities is in direct support of strategic plan Goal 3: Active Learners: Engaged, Empowered, Critical Thinkers.
