FWPS COVID-19 Dashboard

  • Purpose:

    To provide our community with a transparent summary of all known cases of COVID-19 in Federal Way Public Schools.

Previous Updates

  • Background:

    • The dashboard is updated by noon on the first school day of each week. The information provided reflects positive cases over the last 7 days reported to the district by 3:00 pm on the previous Friday.
    • Data reflects positive cases within the last 7-days.
  • COVID-19 Protocol and Response Team:

    • Federal Way Public Schools has a COVID response team and protocol in place as outlined on Page 14 of our family guide: FWPS Family Guide. Our COVID-19 response is aligned to public health guidance.

     

Covid-19 Data

  • COVID-19 Data: The chart below displays the number of FWPS scholars and staff who reported testing positive for Covid-19 between February 4, 2023-February 10, 2023. This data reflects cases that were reported by 3 p.m. on February 10, 2023.  

    *Students and staff reported within this window may already be back in school based on Washington State DOH and/or our Local Health Jurisdiction (Seattle-King County Public Health) guidance. Some confirmed cases reflect remote students and staff that have not been on site. Cases reported after February 10 at 3 pm are not reflected in the data.

Tracking Cases Within Federal Way Public Schools:

  • In the event of a positive COVID-19 case, Federal Way Public Schools works directly with Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC). Based on their guidance, any impacted staff, students, and/or families are notified. FWPS works in partnership with PHSKC to identify close contacts and potential close contacts, and those who were in close contact will be required to quarantine according to the latest guidelines. The current quarantine and isolation guidelines are available here:

      • Staff and scholars ages 18+:
      • Scholars ages 5-17:

    Each case and situation requires unique action as determined by the PHSKC
