December: 12/1/2022-1/10/23
- Referral window open for current FWPS scholars, grades K-11
- Referrals accepted from staff, families, scholars, and community members
- Referrals trigger an identification process and data review
- All 2nd Grade scholars will be reviewed, regardless of referral, as part of our Universal Screening Process
January: 1/11/23 - 1/31/23
- All HCP referrals processed and Parent/Guardian permissions confirmed
February: 2/1/23 – 3/3/23
- CogAT screener administered to all referred scholars, and 2nd Grade scholars as part of the Universal Screening Process (scholar must have Parent/Guardian permission to participate)
- HC Program & Assessment Department compiles most recent data from district/state assessments (iReady, IRLA, SBA, etc.) for each referred scholar (including all 2nd Graders as part of our 2nd Grade Universal Screening)
March: 3/6/22 - 3/30/23
- Complete Universal Screening Data Review for all 2nd Graders
- 3/31/23 HCP Universal Screening Identification outcomes emailed to all 2nd Grade families
April: 4/1/23 - 4/20/23
- The District Highly Capable Multi-Disciplinary Selection Committee (HCMSC) meets to make HCP identification
- 4/21/23 HCP Referral Identification outcomes emailed to all families

Consent Process
Appeal Process
- 3/21/23 – 5/22/23: Families use weblink included in Identification email to provide consent for HC services for the 2023-24 school year due
- 5/25/23: Lists of identified scholars with consent on file sent to principals for planning
- 3/21/23 – 5/10/23: Families use weblink included in Identification email to submit an appeal. All Appeal Forms due 5/10/23
- 5/11/23 – 5/12/23: HCMSC reviews appeals. Final decisions will be sent via email to the person filing the appeal
- 5/12/23 – 5/24/23: Parent’s use weblink included in Appeal email to provide consent for HC services for the 2023-24 school year due 5/24/23
