Graduation 2021

  • Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2021 will consist of a hybrid approach that includes an in-person and virtual experience. Graduation speeches and performances will be pre-recorded and broadcast online the day of graduation. Scholars will then proceed to Federal Way Memorial Stadium at their assigned time for the in-person part of graduation, where graduates will walk across the stage and accept their diploma.

We’re holding this year’s important milestone at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. We’re also making graduation as close as it can be to a typical graduation with an in-person experience, while following social distancing and other safety measures. Our initial graduation ceremony plans followed phase 2 guidelines, which included limiting our venue capacity to 200 people. Updated guidance recently came out that allows us to expand capacity while maintaining safety protocols including maintaining six feet social distancing.

With this updated guidance, each graduating senior will be provided a maximum of 4 in-person tickets for family and friends to attend their ceremony at Memorial Stadium. For safety and venue capacity reasons, no other individuals will be allowed at Memorial Stadium to ensure safe and socially distant ceremonies for the Class of 2021.

Each graduate will be provided two parking passes for their scheduled arrival time, as well as a health attestation form for each graduate and their guests. A valid parking pass is required for entry into the parking area, and your health attestation form serves as your ticket to graduation. It is required for entry into the stadium.

Family and friends unable to attend in person can still celebrate real-time as their graduate walks across the stage because we will be live streaming the graduation ceremonies this year!

It will take us working together to ensure prompt arrival and departure for a memorable experience. This also means for safety reasons, any post-graduation celebrations will need to take place away from school district property. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding! In the coming days, we will continue to fine tune our plans and provide updates.

Memorial Stadium is located at Federal Way High School at 1300 S. 308th St. Federal Way, WA 98003.
