Back to School Pickup Schedule

  • We are excited to welcome our scholars back to school for the 2020-21 school year! We are pleased to share the Back to School pickup schedule for next week, which is September 1, 2, and 3. These drive through events will be held at your child's school.

During your scheduled time, you will have the opportunity to pick up the following items to prepare your child for the first day of school:

    • A Welcome Packet containing a back to school letter and Learning Partnership Guide. Additionally, a Continuous Learning 2.0: A Guide for Families will be provided to each household.
    • Textbooks
    • Instructional materials for your child’s classes
    • Calculators (distributed to secondary students, based on their class schedule)

For parents and guardians who’ve indicated a technology need, such as a loaner computer, you will be notified by the Information Technology Services Department on August 27 or 31 about the availability to check out a device during the school pick-up times. We will communicate about loaner WiFi Hotspots the week of August 31. This is based on parents of students who have completed the online registration process at www.fwps.org/onlineenrollment, indicated a need, and based on technology availability. There will be additional technology deployment dates for requests that come through the online enrollment process after August 30.

Please review the schedule below to see which time you’ve been assigned. If you have children in multiple grades, you may choose one of the assigned times to pick up items at the school sites where your children are enrolled.

The following safety protocols will be in place for this “drive through” pickup time:

    • Staff will wear masks at all times, and will wear gloves to handle materials
    • Staff will stand 6ft apart, and there will be a limit to the number of people on site at any one time
    • Families and scholars must stay in their vehicles.

Also, here are some other important updates:

Orientation: You’re invited to participate in a virtual school orientation for families and scholars, scheduled for September 8 and 9 for your child’s school! At these orientations, you will learn how to support your child’s academics while navigating online learning and how to support your child’s social emotional well-being. Information on how to access this support will be provided by your school.

Class schedules: We anticipate that class schedule(s) will be available to view in StudentVUE and ParentVUE on September 1, 2020.

School supply kits: Due to supply chain issues with receipt of some supplies for our school supply kits, we are postponing the school supply kit pickup to coincide with one of our meal pickup days in September. We will have basic supplies like paper and pencils available during the pickup. We will communicate the school supply kit pickup date as soon as it's available.
