Elementary Schedules (K-5)

  • 100% Remote Learning Schedules and Bell Times

    The FWPS remote learning plan blends synchronous (“live”) and asynchronous (independent) instruction. 

    Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 

    Scholars will log in to synchronous (live) learning time with their teacher(s). Following these class sessions, scholars will then log in for asynchronous (independent) learning time every day. 

    Wednesday Remote Days 

    • Wednesdays will be fully remote for all scholars in our district. Scholars will work on pre-assigned learning tasks, view prerecorded lessons, and use technology tools to support their learning.  
    • Some scholars will engage in small group instruction to receive additional supports. 

     

    Elementary scholars will have synchronous (live) lessons with their teachers 4 days a week for a total of 12 hours per week of synchronous (“live”) instruction. 

    • Scholars will attend either the AM or PM session for synchronous (live) instruction. 
    • English Language Arts (ELA) and Math will be the primary subjects taught during instruction. They will also have dedicated time for social emotional learning and time with specialists.
    • When scholars are not online with their class, they will have asynchronous learning tasks assigned by the teacher(s). 
    • On Wednesdays, scholars will engage in asynchronous learning tasks. Some scholars will participate in synchronous (live) small group instruction. 

    Elementary students will participate in either the AM or PM synchronous (“live”) instruction time and spend the other portion of their day with asynchronous (independent) learning as follows:

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (all elementary students, either the AM or PM Synchronous session):

    AM Synchronous (live)/PM Asynchronous (independent)

    • AM Synchronous (Live) Instruction with teacher: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
    • Student lunch on their own 12:00-12:30 pm
    • PM Asynchronous (Independent)

     OR

    AM Asynchronous (independent)/PM Synchronous (live)

    • AM Asynchronous (Independent)
    • Student lunch on their own 12:00-12:30 pm
    • PM Synchronous (Live) Instruction with teacher: 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

    Wednesday:

    • All scholars will engage in asynchronous (independent) learning.
    • Small group instruction, for identified students will also be provided.

    Time of content will be determined at the school level.                   

    •         9:00-9:05 am: Attendance

    •         9:05-9:20 am: Social Emotional Learning/Morning Meeting

    •         9:20-10:20 am: English Language Arts (ELA)

    •         10:20-10:30 am: Brain Break

    •         10:30-11:30 am: Math

    •         11:30 am-12:00 pm: Specialist

    12:00-12:30 pm: Student lunch on their own

    •         12:50-1:50 pm: English Language Arts (ELA)

    •         1:50-2:00 pm: Brain Break

    •         3:00-3:30 pm: Specialist
