Senior Graduation Walk Recording, Wed., May 20 or Thurs., 21, 2020

Seniors who have met or are close to meeting all graduation requirements are invited to participate in a Senior Graduation Walk at their school on May 20 or 21. The Graduation Walk honors candidates for graduation and provides an opportunity to walk and receive their diploma cover while wearing their cap and gown. This walk will be recorded and inserted into the virtual graduation ceremony.

Additionally, professional photos will be taken of each scholar and will be available for purchase, similar to an in-person graduation ceremony.

In order to ensure we’re able to follow social distancing guidelines, scholars will be assigned a date and time by their school.

If you are unable to participate in the Graduation Walk at your high school, please submit an appropriate photo in your cap and gown using this survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020CapGownPhoto

Class of 2020 School Car Parade Experience, Fri., June 12, 2020, 12–2 p.m.

Each high school will be hosting a School Car Parade Experience on June 12 for the Class of 2020. Seniors are invited to decorate their vehicle and drive through a predetermined route at their school*. The parade route will be lined with staff members celebrating our seniors with signs, posters, pom poms, balloons, music and more. Limit to one car per graduating senior due to space and traffic considerations.

School principals will be providing more information and details about your school parade.

*Due to school construction, Thomas Jefferson High School will host this event at an alternate location.

Graduation is a huge achievement. COVID-19 may prevent us from having typical senior year celebrations, but it doesn’t lessen the importance of achieving a high school diploma. We are proud of you, and we are excited to honor and celebrate your accomplishments. Congratulations, Class of 2020!

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Tammy Campbell, Superintendent
