• Coronavirus Information Update, February 3, 2020

    We are committed to keeping you informed and our students and staff safe.

    The Washington State Department of Health and Public Health and the Department of Public Health – Seattle & King County recently shared information to help educate the public about the 2019 Novel Coronavirus.

    The latest report from these agencies is the immediate risk to the general public in Washington and the United States is considered to be low. While it’s possible that some person-to-person spread with this virus will happen in the United States, 2019-nCoV is NOT spreading in the community here at this time.

    There are NO reported cases of Coronavirus connected to our school district.

    FWPS will continue to monitor this health issue closely and follow guidelines from the Washington State Health Department.

    Please read the attached fact sheet to familiarize yourself with the Novel Coronavirus. Also, steps you can take to prevent spread of flu and the common cold will also help prevent coronavirus:
    • wash hands often with soap and water. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
    • avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
    • avoid contact with people who are sick
    • stay home while you are sick and avoid close contact with others
    • cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing
