STEM Exploration Night 2020
Join Us for STEM Exploration Night!

Federal Way Public Schools has made the decision to postpone STEM Exploration Night to a future date. More information will be shared as soon as it is available.
This annual event offers scholars and their families a chance to explore, prepare and launch into a career pathway in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). There are many STEM career opportunities that scholars can explore such as emergency medical technician, engineer, software developer, computer systems analyst, biomedical technician, web developer, machinist, and so much more.
For the past three years, this event has been a huge success, with thousands of scholars, families, and community members in attendance each year. “It really shows you what kind of careers you can do in the future”, shared a high school scholar who attended the event last year.
The theme for this year’s event is “Full STEAM Ahead: STEM and the Arts”. With this year’s focus, scholars will learn how STEM and the Arts are intertwined in careers such as broadcasting, photojournalism, graphic design, and digital animation. Also returning this year is the STEM Film Festival, which will feature scholar-produced films.
Similar to previous years, there will be more than 80 booths filled with representatives from local STEM companies and higher education programs, including Microsoft, UW Nanofabrication Facility, University of Washington Tacoma, and Highline College. This gives scholars an opportunity to hear more about STEM careers first-hand and ask questions about post-graduate options.
Parking is limited at Federal Way High School, so there are six bus routes running to and from the event, stopping at schools and local apartment complexes. More information, including bus routes and permission slips, is available here: https://www.fwps.org/Page/7407
