MarkTwainHealthandFitness.org applied for a grant through the United States Bowling Council. With support from PTA, MTHF was successful at winning this grant and in winning, brought to school a fun new focus in sports - BOWLING!  With over $2000 of commercial grade supplies awarded, the beloved Bullfrog Nation was now outiftted for membership into the USBC and with 6, 16' lanes, color coded bowling balls and pins + an entire teachers' guide book and much more.

When classes come to the gym they learn about the approach to the foul line. They practice gripping the ball correctly and then follow a 4 point success criteria designed to assist in a fluid delivery of the ball. Teammates work together and focus on helping each other bowl. As the practices continue, split pin emphasis occurs where scholars strategize ways to knock down pins to earn a spare.
