They must maintain a “C” grade minimum as long as there is no more than one class registering a grade of “F” to be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities. The District including the IEP team must provide special education, related services, and accommodations to a special education student in accordance with an IEP and make a good faith effort to assist each student to achieve the goals and objectives or benchmarks. However, if it is determined that a teacher or other members of an IEP team have denied any of the services or accommodations to a student and this resulted in low grades, or if it is determined that a waiver of district eligibility requirements is necessary in order to provide a student with a free and appropriate education, the district may be required to waive the eligibility requirements. Waiver of eligibility requirements for special education students requires prior approval of the Co-Director of Student Support services.
- Middle schools may modify these requirements to meet specific building or program needs, with prior approval of the Superintendent or his designee.
