Overcrowding in schools, aging buildings and safety needs are critical issues the District is addressing through the recommendation of a bond. The bond measure will not increase taxes.

The Facilities Planning Committee gathered for its final meeting on May 16, 2017 to review community feedback acquired at the five forums held throughout April and to make its final bond recommendation to Dr. Tammy Campbell, FWPS superintendent.

The meeting concluded with recognition and celebration of the over 100 parents, community leaders, public officials, staff, and scholar committee members who dedicated 13 meetings and over 32 hours to develop the preliminary bond recommendation.

Dr. Campbell will now seek school board approval of the bond recommendation over two meetings held in May 23 and June 13, 2017 with the intent to put a measure on the November 2017 General Election ballot.
