In It Together Celebration 2018
Parents are critical partners to their child’s learning. At Federal Way Public Schools’ “In It Together” Celebration on Wednesday, May 3, over 200 students, parents, school and district staff, and community came together to celebrate the work of a new parent-teaching-parent model that fosters two-way learning.
Schools impacted by the model are Olympic View, Wildwood, Sequoyah, and Federal Way High School.
This collaborative effort came as a result of a group of committed parents and community based partners through a Race to the Top grant through the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD).
Parents shared that they felt a stronger sense of cultural connectedness and belonging as a community and feel more confident that their partnership positively impacts the school and their child's success.
