The 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) will open on October 1, 2021.
Washington students have two options for financial aid: the FAFSA and the WASFA.
FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is open to US citizens and green card holders. Information on other eligible non-citizenship categories can be found at: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/ and the FAFSA can be found at: http://fafsa.gov.
Undocumented students and DACA holders now have the option of filing the WASFA.
WASFA stands for Washington Application for State Financial Aid. Information on the WASFA including eligibility requirements and a link to apply can be found at: https://wsac.wa.gov/wasfa

In order to electronically submit your FAFSA the student AND a parent/guardian will need to create an FSA ID.
