HIV and Sexual Health Curriculum Family Information Sessions

    Parents and Guardians of Federal Way Public Schools students in grades 5 through 12 are invited to hear a presentation and preview the district's HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health curriculum on:

    • Tuesday, November 26, 2019 (grades 5-8),
      • 6:30-7:30 p.m., Room 104, Educational Service Center, 33330-8th Ave. S., Federal Way
    • Tuesday, December 11, 2019 (grades 9-12)
      • 6:30-7:30 p.m., Room 104, Educational Service Center, 33330-8th Ave. S., Federal Way

     OR

    • Tuesday, March 31, 2020 (grades 5-12) THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT CLOSURE
      • 6:30-7:30 p.m., Room 104, Educational Service Center, 33330 8th Ave. S., Federal Way

    This preview is offered in accordance with the AIDS Omnibus Bill (2SSB 6221) of the State of Washington, which was passed in 1988. The AIDS Omnibus Bill indicates the following:

    Sec. 402: “Students shall receive such (AIDS) education at least once each school year beginning no later than fifth grade,”

     and

    Sec. 402: “No student may be required to participate in AIDS prevention education if the student’s parents or guardian, having attended one of the district presentations, objects in writing to the participation.”
