Cambridge Academy Application Process

About Cambridge Assessment International Academy

  • What is the purpose of the Cambridge Assessment International Academy?

There are a number of ways in which Checkpoint might be used.

    • To prepare students for the demands and expectations of specialized, advanced academic programs at the Cambridge Assessment International Academy at Federal Way High School as well as advanced academics classes at other high schools.
    • To provide students the opportunity to excel beyond state grade level expectations.

  • Who is eligible for the FWPS Middle School Cambridge program?

The program is available to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students selected using specific criteria. Students who reside outside the Lakota or Sacajawea service areas will be asked to participate in the Choice selection process, and will be admitted if space permits and other requirements are met. Out of district students may also apply, and will be accepted after qualifying FWPS students are placed.

Students who live outside the Lakota and Sacajawea service areas are not eligible for bus service, and must provide their own transportation.
