Focus on Foundations
Focus on Foundations consists of 20 AmeriCorps members that support student scholars by providing literacy tutoring to young readers at the elementary level. Tutoring typically occurs in one on one or small group sessions. AmeriCorps members that serve at the elementary schools primarily help students that are struggling in literacy. All Focus on Foundations team members receive weekly training and development to reinforce best practices in the field of education and receive support and feedback in an inclusive environment designed to foster the development of leadership skills.
Equity Corps
Equity Corps consists of 25 AmeriCorps members that provide support to students scholars by serving within the AVID college readiness classrooms in middle or high schools. Members facilitate the AVID tutorial and help support the AVID elective teacher with activities that are designed to help students develop college readiness skills. All Equity Corps members receive weekly training and development to reinforce best practices in the field of education and receive support and feedback in an inclusive environment designed to foster the development of leadership skills.
After School Programs
All of our members support after school programs in addition to serving at a school. After school programs are at the elementary, middle, and high school level.
