Parents will have several opportunities to learn about the new standards-based education system at both district-wide and individual school events.  In addition, the district has a website dedicated to the transition to SBE. Find it at Standards Based Education. Information is also available at your child’s school, including material in multiple languages. These were available to schools just prior to student led conferences.

It will be very clear. We have identified specific learning targets in order to provide clarity on which standards have been met and which ones still need support. We are working on several visuals and tools to provide clarity. We also would expect principals to provide information to teachers and parents.

These programs will still have letter grades. The grades will reflect the standards for those specific programs.
