Greatings Lake Grove Leopard families, 

Here we are at the start of the new calendar year and scholars are returning to school after a restful winter break. I want to take a moment to reflect on the beautiful progress we have made this school year. Our staff, our scholars and our families have come together to launch a wonderful year filled with excitement and learning. Our staff and scholars have been focused on learning and growing together in ways to support one another specifically around student academic talk. During the start of our year our staff have been leaning in on the importance of creating the structures and systems that will help students talk to each other in ways that help support learning.

We are all very excited to see the growth our scholars are making as they engage in rigorous instruction in math and in reading. This academic growth is achieved in part through our very intentional work to create positive behavioral intervention and supports (PBIS). This PBIS work is focused in upon our three school-wide expectations.

Additionally, we are very proud of the family and community connections we have made this year. There are many opportunities to participate in our school community. We have an active PTA and have already held several fun afterschool events.
