Greetings Lake Dolloff Community!
I am thrilled and honored to serve as Principal for all our Lake Dolloff scholars, families, staff, and community. We are the Dolphins! Did you know that dolphins are skillful collaborators and communicators? Dolphins know they have more strength and abilities as a unified team. This is confirmed when dolphins often form large groups to achieve a common goal, often referred to as Superpods. As we work together, each one of us are essential contributors in creating and developing our Lake Dolloff Superpod community. 2019-2020 promises to be an exciting year.
Members of our Superpod have already begun using data to develop specific goals that are clearly outlined in our School Improvement Plan. Our School Leadership Team and Positive Behavior Intervention Team will monitor our school’s progress throughout the year. We are excited to share more about this work with all Superpod stakeholders in the fall.
Another interesting fact is that dolphins “whistle” to communicate. Each dolphin has their own unique whistle, which can be recognized by others in their pod. Just like dolphins, our distinct voices and individual strengths enhance our school and contribute to a thriving community. Beyond the words we speak, core values are communicated through our actions. As a leader, my words and actions are focused on developing and implementing school-wide systems that are cohesive to all students being affirmed and engaged in a safe, learning environment.
I have had the privilege of swimming with strong pods in my previous years. During my career in education, I have been a paraprofessional, a classroom teacher, instructional coach and most recently in these past three years I have served as the Assistant Principal at Lakeland Elementary in our district. I continue to have a strong passion in developing each scholar holistically so they are prepared with the social, emotional and academic skills needed to live out a joyful, courageous life. Each of my roles provided me with various skills and learning opportunities, which has led me to confidently transition into this next role as your Principal.
I am excited to embark on our next journey together as we create and maintain the Lake Dolloff Superpod Community of Learning, Leading and Thriving for All Scholars!
