If you are recommended for employment, you will be offered the position by the hiring administrator or a representative of the Human Resources Department. If you accept the offer, a human resources staff member will arrange with you a time to complete necessary paperwork and fingerprinting. The cost of fingerprinting must be paid at the time the hiring paperwork is completed. All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results from any criminal and employment background checks and verification of the accuracy of all responses submitted on the application form.

If you plan to apply for open positions, it will be necessary for you to complete the online process even if you have an application on file with Human Resources.
All applicants, substitutes, and employees will need to submit an online application in order to be considered for future positions.
All posted positions with a closing date will be removed at midnight of the closing date.

Job Classifications

Certificated positions require a Washington State Teaching or Washington State Educational Staff Associated (ESA) certificate and include positions such as teachers, deans, counselors, registered nurses, psychologists, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and social workers.
Certificated Applicants must provide the following:
- A completed online Certificated Application.
- Copies of official transcripts (originals will be required upon employment).
- Two Confidential Reference Forms. (Can be sent online, see application directions).
- A copy of the appropriate Washington State teaching or professional certificate(s). Applicants who have not yet received a Washington State Certificate can be considered, but will need to provide a valid certificate before starting employment.
- Copy of Praxis II or West E test results (if applicable).
Classified Applications
Classified (non-teaching) positions include positions such as paraeducators (teacher assistants), secretaries, food services workers, bus drivers and mechanics, custodians, grounds and maintenance workers, professional-technical positions, Head Start and ECEAP positions, and management positions in these areas.
Classified Applicants must provide the following:
- A completed online Classified Application.
- Two Confidential Reference Forms. (Can be sent online, see application directions).
Paraeducator Positions
Copies of official transcripts or ETS results are required.Transportation Positions
If you are applying for a Bus Driver position you are required to attach a copy of your complete Motor Vehicle Department driving abstract for the past five years from whichever state(s) you were licensed in.Custodial Positions
A boiler license is required for some positions (check specific job posting for requirements).Administrative Applications
This application is for certificated administrators only, e.g. principals, assistant principals, directors and supervisors of certificated staff, etc. Managers and supervisors of classified staff generally do not require certification and would use the Classified Application. Check individual job postings for requirements.
Administrative Applicants must provide the following:
- A completed online Administrative Application.
- Copies of official transcripts (originals will be required upon employment).
- Two Confidential Reference Forms. (Can be sent online, see application directions).
- A copy of Washington State Principal, or appropriate administrator certificate(s). Applicants who have not yet received a Washington State Certificate can be considered, but will need to provide a valid certificate before starting employment.Coach Applications:
Coaching Applications
This application is for those applying for a position as an athletic coach.
Coaching Applicants must provide the following:
- Complete the online Coach Application.
- Provide proof of current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Resume and/or letter outlining coaching experiences.
- Two Confidential Reference Forms (Can be sent online, see application directions).
Emergency Guest Teacher Applications
This application is for non-certificated substitute teaching. Certificated substitute teachers use the Certificated Application, and substitutes for all classified positions use the Classified Application. Emergency Guest Teachers (substitutes) must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and experience working with groups of children. Please contact the Substitute Coordinator at (253) 945-2027 before filling out this application to see if Emergency Guest Teachers are needed at this time.
If Emergency Guest Teachers are being accepted at this time applicants must provide the following:
- Complete the online Emergency Guest Teacher Application.
- Two Confidential Reference Forms. (Can be sent online, see application directions).
- Official transcripts showing completion of a bachelor’s degree.
Express Applications
This application is only used for ‘in-district only’ positions and for positions such as summer school openings. Use this application only if you are directed to do so by Human Resources staff, or through the job posting.
Express Applicants must provide the following:
