Hello Brilliant Brigadoon Tigers!
As we continue to move through the 2022-2023 school year, I am extremely proud of our community and the strength, growth, and resilience that has been shown throughout the past few years! At Brigadoon, we continue our work in nurturing both a child’s academic success as well as their social and emotional development. We are working on building our understanding of Neural Education in order to support our scholars in new ways that support the way that their brains work in regard to academic challenge and success. We will continue to take time to celebrate coming together in a variety of new ways and continue to work with our scholars and families to ensure a safe and welcoming community for all.
With feedback from our families, I will continue to host a variety of Family Zooms, Coffee with the Principal, and Lunch with Lopez so that we can continue to build our unified commitment to each other and our scholars’ success. The variety of time and zoom versus in-person will accommodate more of our families. Title information, District and Building updates, as well as continuing to connect with families about what is working well and what we can do to get better. Please ensure that your information is current in ParentVue so that you can stay informed and connected.
Federal Way Public Schools offer nutritious meals every school day throughout the school year. For the 2022-2023 school year, breakfast and lunch will be provided for FWPS (Federal Way Public Schools) scholars at no cost, regardless of free and reduced eligibility status. Family Income Surveys are replacing the free and reduced applications and will ensure your child’s school qualifies for federal and state funding as determined by parent income levels and will continue to be collected.
I have always said the health and safety of our scholars, staff, and families are a priority. Our district was hard at work this summer adjusting and implementing additional safety measures for our campus. Superintendent Dr. Pfeiffer will continue to keep our community informed and up to date through the weekly “Federal Way Public Schools News” newsletter. FWPS will continue to focus on our Strategic Plan and make decisions in alignment with guidance from the Washington State Department of Health (WSDOH) and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
We are also calling all families with Kindergarteners! We are looking for new Tiger “Cubs” to join our family! Our team is ready to provide the best year for your scholars to start their educational path. Please go to: fwps.org for online registration options or call 253.945.2400 for assistance.
The community partnership and growth has continued to amaze me over the last three years. I am so proud of our amazing partnership that continues to support the learning environments of our scholars! We are and have always been in this together Brigadoon Tigers!
In Proud Partnership,
Mrs. Vicki Lopez, Principal
