Dear Wildwood Families,
I want to thank all of you and your scholars for your support this year. Your commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of our students and our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic was remarkable. With your partnerships, we were able to simultaneously deliver hybrid, remote, and asynchronous instruction while also moving into our new building. I know that this year was far from "normal", but it was valuable in so many ways in addition to the learning that went on in classrooms. As we already start planning and looking forward to the 2021-22 school year, please be on the lookout over the summer for messages regarding our schedule and procedures for face-to-face school in the fall. As soon as these details are finalized, they will be shared with you.
I would also like to offer congratulations to our outgoing Kindergarteners and 5th graders! We were able to host a drive-thru celebration for our Kindergarteners and 5th graders and their families to commemorate their completion of Kindergarten and their completion of elementary school, respectively. Additionally, we would like to congratulate Debbie Tesch (4th Grade Teacher), Greta Nehrenberg (ELL Teacher), and Rebecca Bennion (Preschool Teacher) on their retirement. We thank them for their commitment to Wildwood and wish them well in their future adventures!
Scholars, we hope you are still enjoying your school laptops and utilizing the learning programs (i-Ready, ARC Bookshelf, MyOn, Imagine Learning, etc.) to ensure you maintain all of your learning from this school year. Additionally, scholars can tune into the local channel 21 for lessons led by FWPS teachers. Please visit https://www.fwps.org/Page/8146 for more details on the summer learning opportunities available to all scholars in Federal Way Public Schools. As a reminder, laptops and hotspots will need to be returned for summer imaging and preparation for fall classroom use. Devices can be returned Tuesday, July 27 thru Saturday, July 31 at the ESC Admin Building. Times and details coming soon.
Lastly, we look forward to seeing our incoming Kindergarten and 1st grade scholars at K/1 Camp on August 16th-18th. Information and registration can be found at https://forms.office.com/r/0b0zL5k5tH and will also be emailed to K/1 families.
I wish your family a summer filled with rest, adventure, reading and sunshine! Please take care and we will see you all in the fall!
