Hello Rainier View Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Rainier View Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education! I have been dedicated to the field of education for over fourteen years. I have worked with a variety of students' ranging in age from Preschool through Middle School. My most recent administrative experience was in the Kent School District where I served as a Principal in a preschool-6th grade elementary school. I started my educational career in Federal Way. My passion for education and supporting the success of all scholars has been shaped over the years from my being a middle school teacher, becoming an Instructional Coach and starting my administrative journey in Federal Way. I have sought to ensure the success of each student and the school, by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities and supports possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at RVW to ensure that every scholar receives a well-rounded education. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Rainier View and be a part of this family for many years.
A well-rounded education means outstanding instruction from top-notch teachers, as well as extracurricular opportunities and supports that enable scholars to develop character, cultivate passions, and explore the world outside of the classroom. As the Principal at RVW, I am committed to ensuring that students needs and interests help shape instruction and extracurricular opportunities. Through this shared commitment to learning, I am excited to see our learners are engaged in other areas that peak student interest and passion. I am thrilled to be a part of the Eagle Family and look forward to collaborating with each of you as we work in partnership to meet the needs of our scholars to ensure their success. Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Amy Rapada and I look forward to partnering with our staff, families, and school community for a wonderful 2018-2019 school year!
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Rainier View. I will do this by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, Common Core Standards, the use of data to drive instruction, and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all of our students' achievements. I believe that the Federal Way Public School’s Strategic Plan provides a solid foundation upon which our staff will build equity, high academic and social-emotional success for all scholars. Everything we do this year will align with the Federal Way Strategic Plan. We will focus especially on Goal Two Whole Child: Thriving confident responsible individuals and Goal Four Mastery of all subjects.
All of us at Rainier View Elementary are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our scholars that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
I look forward to working with you as a team to help each scholar at Rainier View meet their goals and have a successful school year!
