  • Dr. Campbell Hello Staff, Family, and Community,

We’re excited to bring our grades 6-12 students who’ve chosen hybrid/in-person learning back on Monday, April 19! With resources like the Hybrid Model Family Guide, A Day in the Life of a Scholar video, and safety measures in place, we’re partnering with our parents for a safe welcome back to campus.

As a reminder, safety is a top priority for the return to our school campuses. As a result, we need families to complete the daily health screening and take their child’s temperate before sending their child to school.

While we’ve worked to bring students back for hybrid learning, we’re simultaneously preparing and planning for meaningful learning opportunities for this summer and robust learning, reconnection, and launch to the 2021-22 school year. We will be asking our scholars, staff, and parents for their input as we further develop our plans.

Our graduation planning continues for an outdoor commencement that will allow for our students to walk across the stage to receive their high school diploma. Beginning next week, high schools will start distributing caps and gowns and provide yard signs to graduating seniors. We’ll continue to keep you updated on how we’re celebrating our Class of 2021 while incorporating safety guidelines into an in-person graduation experience. More information can be found on our website at www.fwps.org/Graduation2021.

It’s been so important that staff are vaccinated, as well as the community, and we’ve been proactive in collaborating with partners like OmLife Health Clinic to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine. This also includes identifying opportunities for students, specifically 16 and above, now that Washington state has opened eligibility for all Washingtonians. We’ll keep you updated once we’ve secured a date, time, and location for the next vaccine session.

While the 2020-21 school year has been filled with many challenges, at every turn we’ve been able to rise above these challenges through strong partnerships with our families and community, and for this we are grateful.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Tammy Campbell, Superintendent
