What is Special About Our School?
Rainier View Elementary is a learning community dedicated to continuous growth in student achievement. Parents and staff effectively work together to make quality decisions. These partnerships are most evident in Rainier View’s School Leadership Team, the PTA, and participation in school activities.
Teachers loop from 2nd to 3rd grade and 4th to 5th grade. Research supports looping classroom help to enhance achievement and success. Tier II & III students (students who need additional support in Math or Reading) are served in a variety of ways, including a special education developmental preschool, Integrated Kindergarten, Resource Room support, English Language Learners, and Title One Reading/Math Program. We also have a GATE Program to support our 2nd through 5th graders who need an accelerated instructional classroom.
Rainier View emphasizes citizenship, technology, and community involvement. We are proud of our PTA and Community Partnerships.
Consistently responsible, respectful, and cooperative students are rewarded the FLYER badge and are honored at monthly citizenship assemblies.
Our learning community provides a positive environment that motivates and supports students and families. Working as a team with parents, the Rainier View staff makes a difference in children’s lives. No Child Left Behind Report Card
The No Child Left Behind Act requires all schools and school districts in the United States to prepare annual reports for parents and the public detailing their academic achievement. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s web site makes this information available on-line. Find your school’s report card on-line at http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/, Click on Federal Way in the “Summary” box, and then choose your school from the list.
