What is Special About Our School?
We celebrate “kids” as lifelong learners. Our Enterprise staff strive to prepare students for the future. Besides meeting all district and state requirements, students are challenged to adopt good study habits, do their best work the first time, become life-long learners, and respect themselves, others, and their environment.
Students in grades 1-4 are ”looped,” remaining with the same teacher for two years. This establishes a relationship that enhances and accelerates the learning process.
Parents are a vital part of Enterprise, and many of them volunteer in classrooms. It’s not at all unusual to see a parent teaching an art class, working with study groups, or reading with children.
Students are very involved in the everyday operations of the school. They deliver the mail, recycle, read announcements, and distribute lunches. Students serve as crossing guards, student council members, and junior library volunteers, help maintain the school’s web site, and organize student-led activities. Each of these functions involves critical learning in a fun and collaborative manner and builds community as well as self-esteem.
Several Enterprise programs address district literacy /numeracy goals. These include a library program and Accelerated Reader, our PTA-sponsored reading program, Math I-728, and family reading and math nights.
Complementing the strong focus on reading, writing, and math is an emphasis ion the arts and other areas of curriculum enrichment. Enterprise offers a talent show, yearbook experience, and after-school enrichment classes.No Child Left Behind Report Card
The No Child Left Behind Act requires all schools and school districts in the United States to prepare annual reports for parents and the public detailing their academic achievement. Enterprise funds are used to enhance student curriculum and programs. Most of the money goes to classroom supplies, equipment and technology, training for educational assistants and materials to support the library, counseling and math services.
