Battle of the Books Will Be Waged March 27

District third, fourth and fifth-grade students will have the opportunity again this year to participate in the Battle of the Books. Elementary schools will hold a school-level battle in which students will answer 25 questions about the books. The winning team will represent its school at the district-wide Battle of the Books. The champion team gets to keep the Battle of the Books trophy at their school until the next year’s battle.

This program gives students increased interaction with literature and opportunities to discuss the books they have read. They work collaboratively in teams and study books together. Additional benefits include learning to handle high-pressure situations, speaking before an audience, and setting goals for success
